أعلنت الشرطة الأسكتلندية، أن طائرة تابعة لشركة مصر للطيران اضطرت السبت إلى الهبوط في مطار غلاسكو البريطاني بعد "العثور على رسالة مشبوهة على متنها"، ما أجبر القوات الجوية على مواكبة الطائرة.
وأضافت الشرطة، أن طائرة تابعة لمصر للطيران كانت متجهة من القاهرة إلى نيويورك بدلت اتجاهها نحو مطار بريستويك بأيرلندا بعد العثور على رسالة مشبوهة على متنها".
وأضافت "لم يسجل سقوط أي ضحية" موضحة أن الركاب الـ326 الذين كانوا على متن الطائرة التي هبطت عصرا ستقوم الشرطة باستجوابهم.
وكانت وزارة الدفاع البريطانية أفادت أن قوات الجو البريطانية واكبت الطائرة من طراز بوينغ 777 إلى المطار الأسكتلندي إثر "حادث على متنها"، لافتة إلى تدخل طائرات نفاثة عدة.
وأوضحت الراكبة ندى توفيق، التي تعمل لحساب البي بي سي للقناة، أنها عثرت في حمام الطائرة على رسالة كتب عليها "سأحرق الطائرة"، لافتة إلى أن الرسالة التي كانت تحمل أيضا رقم مقعد في الطائرة كتبت بواسطة قلم حبر على محرمة.
وأفاد مصدر ملاحي أنه رغم هذا الهبوط الاضطراري فإن مطار غلاسكو واصل عمله السبت بشكل طبيعي و"لم تتأثر الرحلات المقررة".
وكانت مصادر ملاحية في مطار القاهرة أكدت في وقت سابق أن طائرة مصر للطيران التي أقلعت الأحد متجهة إلى نيويورك هبطت في مطار غلاسكو بأيرلندا بعد العثور على ورقة في دورة المياه تتضمن تحذيرا من أنها ستنفجر في الجو.
وأوضحت المصادر أن إحدى المضيفات عثرت بعد حوالي خمس ساعات من إقلاع الطائرة على منديل ورقي داخل دورة المياه مكتوب عليه تحذير من أن الطائرة ستنفجر في الجو.

A plane has made an emergency landing in Scotland after a suspicious note was found in a toilet.


A PLANE travelling between Egypt and the US has made an emergency landing at a Scottish airport after a suspicious note was found in a toilet.

The aircraft was escorted to Prestwick Airport, Ayrshire, by RAF fighter jets during its flight from Cairo to JFK Airport in New York.
The Egypt Air Boeing 777 landed about 2.30pm local time (2330 AEST) yesterday and was met by a heavy police presence.
It took six hours before all 326 people on board were removed from the plane to be interviewed by police.
BBC employee Nada Tawfik was on board the plane and said she found a note in a toilet apparently threatening to start a fire.
She told BBC News: "When I went in to change my daughter about three hours into the flight, I found a note by the sink saying 'I set this plane on fire' with the seat number 46 D written on it.

"So I immediately went to the crew and told them about it.
"It was on a hand napkin written in pencil and the pencil was actually still there so I told the crew to make sure to keep it so they can get any fingerprints off of it. They locked the bathroom immediately so that no one could go into it.
"It almost looked like a child's handwriting or someone who has very sloppy handwriting, but it was very alarming especially these days when everyone is so concerned about safety on flights. I said to one of the stewardesses 'I don't know if this is a prank', they said 'no, it can't be a prank'.
"Either someone has a very bad sense of humour or, you know, it's very scary."
Police said the terror threat has not been raised by the incident and they are trying to find out who wrote the note.
Detective Superintendent Alan Crawford, of Police Scotland, said: "There was no one removed in handcuffs and no one has been detained or arrested and we're continuing our investigation into the note that was found and its origin and motive.
"This note, whatever narrative it contained, we have to treat it seriously and maintain the safety of passengers and crew.
"The captain took the decision to divert the aircraft and it's now for police to investigate where that note came from and to see if we can identify who put it within the plane and what was the circumstances leading to that."
Prestwick Airport is designated to deal with emergency incidents and it remained open while the Egypt Air plane sat on a runway.
Arrangements for onward travel will be made once all passengers have been interviewed, police said.
