7-Zip is a file archiver with a high compression ratio
7-Zip can compress your folders and files so that they use less space on your hard drive. The program is able to create archives in 7z format, TAR, gzip, bzip2 and zip. It can open many formats such as 7z, ZIP, CAB, RAR, ARJ, gzip, bzip2, TAR, CPIO, RPM and DEB.
To distribute your files, you can create self-extracting archives from your 7z archives. Handling archives is also facilitated by the integration of common commands to the context menu of Windows Explorer. Drag and Drop is now supported. So you can simply drag your files from Windows Explorer to the 7-Zip window to add them to an archive. The reverse operation makes it easy to retrieve documents in an archive.
